The increasing understanding of the interaction between sex hormones and the neurological bases of behavior and emotions need a much closer collaboration between psychiatrist and gynecologist.
The objective is to increase early diagnosis and treatment of predisposing, precipitating, and maintaining disendocrine factors that contribute to the development of postmenopausal depression and associated comorbilities.
