Endometriosis:
A proof of concept that experience-based management of endometriosis can complement evidence-based guidelines
Facts Views Vis Obgyn. 2023 Sep;15(3):197-214. doi: 10.52054/FVVO.15.3.094. PMID: 37742197
Claim the importance of clinical experience alongside evidence-based medicine, because each case faced in daily practice can be considered as an experiment characterized by an outcome, which can be used to improve the management of subsequent cases. And apply this approach to endometriosis.
This is the objective of the study coordinated by Arnaud Wattiez, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Strasbourg (France), and Philippe R. Koninckx, Professor Emeritus at the UZ University Hospital of Leuven (Belgium).
Professor Alessandra Graziottin took part in the development of the document, born following the Endo Dubai 2023 conference; during the plenary sessions, she chaired the session «Endometriosis, sexuality and pain» and gave a lecture on «Endometriosis, sexuality and pain: lack of professional recognition. Why? Which future?”.
